Harness the Waves: Transform Seawater into Drinking Water with MWTS’ Oceatron Technology
Desalination and resource recovery at its best
Oceans are an abundant source of water and resources, vital for ensuring water and resource security for humanity. Yet, the challenges associated with current desalination technologies hinder the sustainable tapping of this potential. MWTS’ Oceatron technology addresses these issues, offering innovative solutions for efficient and eco-friendly seawater desalination, converting it into drinking water and also paving the way for a secure and sustainable future.
Challenges in tapping the most perennial source of water
Oceans, the most perennial source of water, hold immense potential for addressing global water scarcity. However, harnessing this resource sustainably poses significant challenges. Traditional desalination methods send 50%-60% of the water as brine (RO reject) back into the ocean, compromising marine ecology. The process also involves very high energy consumption and a substantial carbon footprint, making it environmentally unsustainable. Additionally, the high cost of operation and lack of resource recovery in the desalination process further complicate its feasibility.
Running desalination plants comes with its own set of operational issues, including constant RO membrane fouling and maintenance challenges. These obstacles highlight the need for innovative solutions that not only make desalination more efficient but also minimize its environmental impact. Our cutting-edge water technology Oceatron, aims to overcome these barriers, offering a more sustainable and cost-effective approach to seawater desalination. By addressing these critical issues, we pave the way for a future where ocean water can be tapped responsibly, ensuring water and resource security for all.
MWTS’ Oceatron Technology: Drinking Water from Ocean Water
Curious about what sets Oceatron apart? It leverages the principles of Specific Frequency of Dissociation (SFOD) to extract dissolved metals from ocean water. This is followed by the application of Van Der Waals forces and Reduction-Facilitated-Osmotic-Diffusion (RFOD) technology to purify the water to ISO drinking water standards.
Net Zero Water
With MWTS’ Oceatron technology, net water consumption equals zero. This means the total water used by the system is balanced by the amount of water reused on-site. Beyond water recovery, Oceatron also extracts valuable minerals from the ocean, all with zero brine discharge without using evaporators. This sustainable, next-generation technology represents a significant advancement in resource recovery and environmental protection.
The low energy used, reduces carbon footprints and also reduces the cost of operating Oceatron for water and valuable metal recovery from the ocean. This will empower your plant to work towards the Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario (NZE Scenario) by achieving net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.
